Hi everyone! We’re Brooks and Denzell. Brooks grew up in Lexington, South Carolina and works as an elementary school teacher. Denzell is from High Point, North Carolina and works as a real estate attorney. Whether you know one of us or both, we’re thrilled to share a little about ourselves and the journey that brought us together.

Like so many modern love stories, ours began with a simple swipe online. Little did we know that one small decision would change everything. Our first messages were full of laughs and easy conversation, and before long, we knew we had to meet in person. What started as “just a swipe” quickly turned into something much more meaningful.

Our first date took place in Charlotte, NC, at a local brewery called Protagonist, the original NoDa location, a spot that is no longer open. We grabbed some beers and enjoyed getting to know each other, sharing stories and conversation. The afternoon went so well that we decided to continue with a nice dinner at The Goodyear House, which is still one of our favorite spots to eat at and always reminds us of our first date.

Brooks didn’t see it coming on Christmas Day. Just a few days earlier, we were out having cocktails with some of our close friends, and Brooks jokingly mentioned that he never wanted to be proposed to on a holiday, especially Christmas. Little did he know that Denzell had other plans. On Christmas Day, Denzell got down on one knee and proposed, and Brooks said yes! It was such a special moment, made even more memorable with our parents there to witness it.

Most of all, we are thrilled to share this next chapter with all of you. Having our family and friends together to celebrate means the world to us. Thank you for being part of our story. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on our wedding day!
